Kristen Miranda

Kristen Miranda is senior vice president of Strategic Partnerships and Innovation at Blue Shield of California, a 3.5 million member not-for-profit health plan that serves the state’s commercial, individual and government markets. Miranda leads the Accountable Care Organization (ACO) program and other strategic network relationships and innovations.

Since joining Blue Shield as vice president of Provider Network Management in 2006, Miranda has managed the development of Blue Shield’s collaborations with health systems and medical groups across California. She led the creation of an industry-leading ACO network and program that spans 22 HMOs, eight PPOs and three Medicare ACOs.

Prior to joining Blue Shield, she held positions in provider contracting and provider services with Anthem, Health Net and CIGNA.

Miranda earned a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from the University of California, Davis, and was an Honors Collegium Scholar at the University of California, Los Angeles.
